Introduction and Techniques in Blown and Solid Glass with Color
Introductory course on working with borosilicate glass using flameworking techniques.
This course is designed to deepen your understanding of both blown and solid glass techniques, as well as the application of color.
We will review the basic methods to understand the behavior of glass and train the body to handle it with ease. Each technique will be explored in depth to help you feel confident with the material and develop more focused, intentional projects.
We’ll also cover theoretical concepts and explain how the studio works, fostering greater independence. You'll work with different scales, concepts, colors, and tools.
You’ll discover that glass offers infinite possibilities. This course is designed as a continuous process, where each session helps consolidate what you’ve learned while encouraging you to explore new techniques with confidence.
Thanks to the studio’s methodology and the consistent practice, you’ll develop skill, rhythm, and creative freedom.
The goal is to move step by step, integrating knowledge, experimenting with the material, and shaping everything you imagine into reality.
Finally, you’ll be able to take home all the pieces you’ve created, which will have been properly kiln-annealed to ensure strength and durability.
Duration: 3 hours per week, over 4 weeks. A total of 12 course hours.
